Is it bigfoot or a paintball sniper?!?! First strike rounds - why do they work? - The average effective range of a paintball is about 150 feet, or 50 yards.  Beyond that the ball will probably not break if you hit your target.  And that’s a big if.  It has only been the paintball marker’s high rate of fire that allows enough paintballs to be thrown at a target in a short period of time that allows the shooter hope of eliminating their target. Until now.  Enter the Tiberius Arms First Strike paint round.  They claim more range and more accuracy without a change in velocity.  What makes them work and are these claims valid?
Is it bigfoot or a paintball sniper?!?! Paintball Snipers -- real or imagined? (updated 2013) - Nothing, and I do mean nothing, will start a paintball forum flame war faster than this topic. More of an opinion piece than a guide we go over both sides of the argument and discuss why we feel that in many ways both sides are right, and both sides are wrong. It takes more than a big barrel and a scope to make anything remotely resembling a "paintball sniper"...if they even exist. With the addition of First Strike rounds and magazine fed markers, everything has changed.
Being a paintball ref is a demanding responsibility. M203 style grenade launchers - Sometimes during a scenario game the difference between success and failure is determined by a single, well placed, football shaped piece of foam with fins on it.  Of course I’m talking about scenario LAWs (also known as rocket launchers) and the little Nerf Vortex rounds that they fire.  While most players will use a collection of metal pipes and PVC, there is another way of firing these little neon orbs of destruction…the airsoft based M203 style Grenade Launcher.
Being a paintball ref is a demanding responsibility. How to be a good recreational paintball Refree - Many times the difference between whether you have a great day on the paintball field or a horrible one is determined not by you or the people you play with but the referees who run the game. While they are there to make sure everyone follows all the rules, the safety of their players is their number one priority. Read about what it takes to be a better recreational paintball referee...and some things that you shouldn't do...
That's a CLOSE one! Paintball Accuracy - Part Three - The last part in this three part series. We have covered the physics involved with paintball and the way a paintball is affected in flight. Now we discuss how all these things come together with the different parts of your marker and what you can do to improve your marker's accuracy! Be sure to read the first two parts fist though!
Paintballs are affected by many factors during their flight to the target. Paintball Accuracy - Part Two - The second part in this three part series we talk about the way a paintball is affected in flight. Gravity, wind, velocity, even the shape of the paintball all play a part in how it flies through the air. If you haven't already read Part One below, start there.
On target! The physics of Paintball Accuracy Paintball Accuracy - Part One - When I posted the Paintball Sniper guide I mentioned it was one of the most argued topics on any paintball forum. Well, here is another one. How accurate are paintballs? Why is their level of accuracy so much less than that of a real firearm? In this first of three part series we go over the physics involved in the flight of the paintball and what parts of the marker contribute to its accuracy.

Regulators and why you could use one. Regulators – What they are, what they do, and do you need one - In today’s world of low pressure markers and High Pressure Air (HPA), regulators are almost an afterthought. However, there are still many of us out there that run good old CO2 and markers that have never seen a regulator.  For those that do not already have a regulator, or those that have always wondered what a regulator does, read on to find out more about them and whether or not there should be one in your future.
All about sights...and yes I could put more on here. Scopes and Sights – Are They Right for You? - There is a debate in the paintball world as to whether or not scopes and other forms of firearm sights are useful or not.  Most say that with the inherent inaccuracy of paintballs that a sight of any sort is more for decoration than anything else. Others say that with the limited range of paintball scopes are all but useless.  While both points have their merits, scopes and sights can increase your first shot success.  Read on to find out more.
WS66 in pieces...we'll show you how to do it. How to Teardown a Warsensor WS66 - This is something that I had been meaning to do for some time. Sure, not a lot of these markers are around but I figure the few that have them could benefit from a more complete breakdown. So if you need to know how to take apart your WS66 completely (well, almost...pretty dang close) then read on! Please note that this guide is very lengthy with over 50 images so it will take a while to load.
PUGs can add to the scenario paintball experiance walking Tanks? A Guide to the How's and Why's of PUG Piloting - Sure motorized tanks are cool, fun, and impressive on the paintball field, but with rising gas prices, additional insurance requirments, and the cost to build these monsters, walking tanks (or PUGs) offer an affordable way to field a paintball tank. Light, manuverable, and fun PUGs can add to the scenario paintball experiance and add some excitment to an otherwise "tank-thin" game.

What marker to get? Perhaps paintball's number one asked question. buying your first (or next) marker - You've seen the question time and again.  What marker should I buy?  Should I get a Tippmann or a Spyder?  Should I get a Timmy or a Cocker?  These are not easy questions to answer for a number of reasons. You have your budget, you have your computer, and you have your credit card but see why there is more to buying your first marker than you might think!
Time to get the goodies. Upgrading your paintball marker. upgrading your marker - Perhaps one of the most frequently asked questions is what to get for your new marker.  Be it that new barrel, a particular sight, or any number of other general add-ons it seems that many people do not quite know where to begin when it comes to upgrading their marker.  As such I've tried to put together this short guide on this subject. So check this out before you buy!
Playing on a budget and how a fire extinguisher makes a great paintball flamethrower. Playing on a budget - As though you don’t already know, paintball is not a cheap sport. Even if you get past the initial investment of items such as mask, marker, pack, pods, and tank the perishables of paintball, namely paint and air, are not always cheap either. Whether you are a teenager with a summer job or an old timer (like myself) with the responsibilities of family and a mortgage the price of playing out sport can sometimes reduce the number of times we enjoy it per year.
Good sportsmanship is more than just covering your buddy's six. Good sportsmanship and you - One of the biggest problems on the paintball field today is poor sportsmanship.  But being the happier, more positive person I try to be I'd rather not focus too much on being a poor sport, but rather how to conduct youself with honor and integrity on the paintball field. Read here how you can keep not only your paintball experiance fun but spread good sportsmanship to other players as well! Remember, smiling is infectious!
Safety first! Note the goggles are on, the barrel cover is on, and the marker is pointed down! Safety first! - Safety. I know, you hear all the time in APG how you must wear your mask at all times but there is more to paintball safety than just a mask. Paintball is considered one of the safest extreme sports but that is only when the proper safety gear and procedures are followed. So sit back, grab something to drink, and take a moment to read this because nothing should take a back seat to being safe on and off the field.
